It’s finally here, Special Olympics Great Britain is underway in Sheffield and the Xactium team is in full olympic spirit!
The opening ceremony was a splendid affair and despite the rain there was a vibrant atmosphere, full of excitement and anticipation as spectators watched the athletes parade into the grounds with such happiness and pride.
On day two of the games, Richard and Cathy Seaman were honoured to be able to present an award to our very own Michael Evans who won silver in the Table Tennis Competition, a very proud moment for Managing Director Andy Evans and all the Xactium family.
Athletes are competing across 20 different sports, including Sailing, Judo and Ten-pin bowl at venues across the city. Over 7000 family members and friends are cheering the competitors on, which is the largest ever attendance at a National Games.
Our commitment to the games as an official sponsor has spanned over 18 months and to finally see the athletes here is Sheffield competing with such passion and determination, it is a special week for the company and everyone associated with the games. It is proving to be a wonderful and inspiring event so far and one that we as a company are very proud to be a part of.
